Worker Protection

Ensuring a safe environment for all.

We handle discrimination complaints, offer mandatory training, advise on equity issues, and facilitate accommodations—ensuring a fair and inclusive workplace.

 Title IX

Title IX is a federal law intended to end sex discrimination in higher education. The Title IX & Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation (DHR) Prevention Office, Deputy Coordinators, Investigators, and Campus Partners stand ready to assist any member of the campus community who has experienced discrimination or sexual misconduct.

Human Resources supports equal opportunity by:

  • Investigating complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation from faculty, students, and staff.
  • Responding to complaints filed through outside agencies such as the Office of Civil Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
  • Participating as members on various campus equity committees.
Providing mandatory human resources and Title IX training to managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Counseling departments on equity issues.
  • Preparing the annual Humboldt Affirmative Action plan.
  • Administering the online sexual harassment prevention training program through Skillport.
  • Facilitating the interactive process for providing reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities.
