Health Benefits

Humboldt Health Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with various other options including FlexCash, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), Health Care and/or Dependent Care reimbursement accounts.

Leave, Disability, and Workers Compensation

There are multiple options to cover you in case of the unexpected. Our leave programs allow you peace of mind during sickness, injury, and/ or other personal needs.

Retirement Plans

CalPERS

California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is the retirement system for all eligible employees of Cal Poly Humboldt. Full-time appointments that exceed six months and half-time appointments averaging 20 hours per week for one year or longer require membership in CalPERS.

Part-Time Retirement Program

The Part-Time, Seasonal, Temporary (PST) Retirement Plan is a mandatory retirement plan for non-CalPERS eligible employees. The plan is administered by the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) under the Savings Plus Program (457), and the employee's contribution is 7.5% of the gross monthly salary.

Voluntary Retirement Programs

Humboldt provides the option of various supplemental retirement plans to help you save for your future.

Other Benefits

Life Insurance

The Standard Life Insurance Company (The Standard) is the CSU’s insurance carrier for employer-paid basic term life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Eligibility required.

Voluntary Benefits Programs

Employees can enroll in voluntary, employee-paid insurance and benefit plans. For example Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), CalPERS Long Term Care Plan, MetLaw® Legal Plan, CAL-ORE Life Flight Program, Pet Insurance, gym membership discounts, and others.

Fee Waiver Program

Eligible employees have the opportunity to attend Humboldt classes at a reduced rate. The program is designed to assist employees with career development and job-related employee training.
