Theatre Arts Seismic Retrofit Scope of Work

Theatre Arts Seismic Retrofit Project Schedule

  • The CSU Seismic Review Board classified the University’s Theatre Arts Building as a priority one seismic retrofit project as a result of a number of studies completed over the past several years.  The primary objectives of the project, which outline the core achievements required of the funding per the Chancellor’s Office, include completion of seismic elements to achieve the seismic strengthening required to mitigate the hazards identified by the Review Board, installation of code compliance upgrades triggered by implementing the seismic elements, and improvement of the operational cost efficiency of the campus from a facilities perspective.  Completion of the Theater Arts Building will be on time, July 26th 2019 and ensure that we can complete move in activities and have JVD for events and programs for the Fall 2019 semester. There will be some continuing work at the Theater Arts Building running through August 23rd that does not impact the building occupants.

Phase I (Spring/Summer 2017)

  • Seismic Coefficient changed - triggering redesign of the retrofit project

Phase II (Fall 2017-Fall 2018)

  • Permitting of final construction documents
  • Solicit bids for the construction of the seismic retrofit project
