Meal Plans

On-Campus Resident Meal Plans

There are 4 meal plans offered for on-campus residents.

These packages and prices are for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

All living areas require a meal plan except College Creek and Campus Apartments. Residents of the Hill, Canyon, and Creekview Suites are required to have one of the All Access meal plans. Residents of Creekview Apartments and Cypress are required to have any one of the meal plans.

Students will be assigned the minimum meal plan required for their assigned living area, should they select a lesser meal plan.

Each plan is designed primarily for meals in The J Dining Hall. However, each plan has Flex Dollars, as well as Meal Exchanges that can be used at any dining location. Each plan also has meals that can be used for resident's guests in The J.

All Access 7 Day

The All Access 7 Day meal plan provides unlimited meals, 7 days a week in The J, and provides the best value of the meal plans. In addition, this plan gives students $350 flex dollars per semester that can be used at any dining location. Also included are 71 meal exchanges that can be used at any dining location. One of the All Access meal plans are required for all residents of the Hill, Canyon and Creekview Suites. This plan has the best value for students that plan to eat on-campus everyday.

All Access 5 Day

The All Access 5 Day meal plan provides unlimited meals, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday only, in The J. In addition, this plan gives students $250 flex dollars per semester that can be used at any dining location or to be used on the weekends. Also included are 53 meal exchanges that can be used Monday - Friday at any dining locations. One of the All Access meal plans are required for all residents of the Hill, Canyon and Creekview Suites. This plan is best suited for students that do not plan on eating at on-campus dining locations most weekends.

Lumberjack 125

The Lumberjack 125 meal plan provides 125 meals. This plan includes 107 swipes that can be used in The J and 18 meal exchanges that can be used at any dining location. In addition, this plan gives students $500 flex dollars per semester that can be used at any dining location.

Lumberjack 75

The Lumberjack 75 meal plan provides 75 meals. This plan includes 57 swipes that can be used in The J, and 18 meal exchanges that can be used at any dining location. In addition, this plan gives students $250 flex dollars per semester that can be used at any Dining location.

FAQs

  • How do I get a meal plan? On-campus residents will select their meal plan in their Housing Application. If you live in an area that doesn't require a meal plan, and you later would like to add one, send an email to housing@humboldt.edu.
  • How do I access my meal plan? Your meal plan balance will be uploaded to your student ID card. If you haven't gotten it yet, or if you forget it in your room, you can show your ID and bar code through get.cbord.com/.
  • What if I select a meal plan that is lesser than the meal plan required for my assigned living area? Students will be assigned the minimum meal plan required for their assigned living area, should they select a lesser meal plan.
  • Can I add more meal swipes to a meal plan? No, you cannot add more swipes to a meal plan. If you run out of meal swipes you can also use your meal exchanges, flex dollars or purchase C-Card funds to use at dining locations.
  • Can I add more flex dollars to a meal plan? Yes, you can purchase more flex dollars online.
  • What can C-Card be used for? C-Card can be used to pay for washing and drying clothes in the residence halls, to use at print stations around campus for printing, for purchases at the bookstore or at any dining location which includes a 5% discount.
  • Where can I purchase C-Card funds? C-Card funds can be purchased at the Housing Cashier, Student Financial Services or online.
  • What can flex dollars be used for? Flex dollars can be used to purchase food at any dining location on-campus. 
  • What if I don't use all my flex dollars? Unused flex dollars at the end of fall semester will roll over to the spring semester; any balance left at the end of spring semester will NOT be refunded.
  • What if I don't use all my meal swipes in a Lumberjack plan? Unused meals swipes and flex dollars left on the Lumberjack plans at the end of fall semester will roll over to the spring semester; any unused meals at the end of spring semester will NOT be refunded. Any remaining meal exchanges will also roll over to the spring semester, but guest swipes expire at the end of each semester.
  • How do the meal exchanges work for on-campus meal plans? Meal Exchanges can be used for a pre-defined meal combo and also as a cash value towards a purchase at Humboldt Dining locations including The Depot, College Creek Marketplace, Bigfoot Burgers, Library Cafe and the J Dining Hall.
  • What if I don't use all my meal plan exchanges by the end of the semester? Any remaining meal plan exchanges from fall will roll over to the spring on the Lumberjack plans. Any remaining balance of swipes, exchanges or flex dollars expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • What if I don't use my guest meals? Guest meal swipes are provided for students at no additional cost. Guest meal swipes will expire at the end of each semester.
  • Can guest meal swipes be used at any dining location? No. Guest meals can only be used at The J.
  • If I'm on the All Access 5 Day, can I use meal plan exchanges on Saturday and Sunday? No. On the All Access 5 Day, meal swipes and meal exchanges can only be used Monday - Friday. Flex dollars can be used any day of the week.
  • If I have a meal plan for the fall semester, and then cancel my meal plan for the spring semester, will my remaining balance carry over? Any unused flex dollars will rollover from the fall to the spring semester. If you're on a Lumberjack plan with a set number of meal swipes, those swipes and exchanges will also carry over to the spring semester. If you're on an All Access plan, swipes and exchanges do not rollover. All meal plans expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • What happens if I run out of meal swipes or meal exchanges? If you run out of meal swipes, your meal plan will automatically use any guest swipes or meal exchanges you may have left. Once you are out of swipes and meal exchanges, your flex dollars or C-Card can be used. You can also add more C-Card funds online or at the Housing Cashier.
  • What happens if I run out of flex dollars? Once you run out of flex dollars, your meal plan will automatically use any C-Card funds, if you have any. You can also add more C-Card online or at the Housing Cashier.
