About Cypress

At Cypress, each suite has a living room, bathroom, and a kitchen area with cooking facilities and a dining table. Some suites have a balcony or patio off of the living room.

Cypress residents are required to purchase any one of the housing meal plans.

There is a laundry facility on the ground floor of the Cypress complex available for everyone. Some suites having personal washers and dryers for use. Outside, you’ll find a basketball hoop, barbecue, lawn, and recreation area adjacent to Cypress Hall.

The suites consist of double and single rooms. All rooms are furnished with a twin extra-long bed, desk, and wardrobe closet for each resident. Every resident can access the internet through wired and wireless connections.

Cypress residents are not allowed to have microwaves and mini refrigerators in their personal rooms. Microwaves and refrigerators are provided in the kitchen area of each suite. Students with medical needs requiring additional refrigeration space should contact the Campus Disability Resource Center at cdrc@humboldt.edu. If approved, the refrigerator must be kept in an open space that allows ventilation. Refrigerators may not be placed in a closet or under desks.

We offer co-ed suite living with single-gender bedrooms on most floors, with private, recently remodeled restrooms on the first and second floors and restrooms equipped with three toilets and shower stalls on the rest. The rest of the floors are single gender with two toilets and shower stalls.

Custodial services clean the bathrooms weekly. The rest of the suite cleaning responsibilities are up to the residents.
