Campus Apartments Parking Lots
With the recent closure of the Campus Apartments, Parking has changed the Resident lots to General parking areas. Any vehicle with a valid Cal Poly Humboldt parking permit can now park in these lots. The G8 lot is located at the north end of the G11 lot by the ceramics building. The G30 lot is at the end of Laurel Drive directly in front of the Campus Apartments.
17th STREET CLOSED
The Cal Poly Humboldt Project team has begun construction on our new flagship building of the Cal Poly era, the Engineering & Technology Building. The construction site encompasses the Campus Events Field as well as 17th Street between B Street and Wildlife Lane.
Fencing has been set up around the perimeter of the site, restricting access on 17th Street. Pedestrian access around this site will be maintained for the duration of the project with only localized areas being taken offline for safety.
When alternate routes are necessary, the contractor will post detour signage. Controlled access on 17th Street will be allowed for campus disability resource centers as well as other campus service vehicles.
This closure will be in effect until the project is completed in Summer 2026. For more information please check in with the E&T project website here. If you have any questions please call Facilities Management at 707-826-3646.

Alternate Transportation Options
Parking is extremely limited, and purchasing a permit does not guarantee a parking spot; therefore, we encourage alternate forms of transportation.
- JackPass - unlimited free ride access on all local transit systems during the fall & spring semesters
- Zipcar - car sharing, an alternative to car rental and car ownership
- Humboldt Bikeshare - 20 bikes at 4 stations and affordable pricing
- Humboldt Transit Authority Weekday Express Route - service between Eureka and Ukiah. Connect to Crescent City on Redwood Coast Transit and to Santa Rosa via Mendocino Transit. Your JackPass will cover your ride from Eureka to Ukiah!
We strongly encourage you to leave your vehicle at home and utilize these options!
Free Vehicle Jump Starts & Lock Out Services
Imagine getting in your car after a hard day, putting your keys in the ignition, and getting... nothing. Your car will not start. The lights won't turn on. The power windows work. The battery is dead. Unless you have a friend in the area with jumper cables, you are probably out of luck. Or suppose you get in your car and realize you forgot an important file. You race back to your office to retrieve it, only to find that you locked your keys in your car. You could call a locksmith, or a roadside assistance service. Your other alternative is to phone University Police, who will dispatch someone to assist you, at no cost, in approximately 15 minutes. Simply call (707) 826-5555 (ext. 5555 from a campus phone) and a Parking Officer will be sent to your location.
*The City of Arcata operates its own parking enforcement program including meters surrounding the campus. The City of Arcata meters are labeled City of Arcata. The City of Arcata is currently enforcing permit parking, timed parking, and meters. For more questions on City of Arcata parking call 707-822-2428.
