Riley Hemenover

Officer of Student Affairs

Psychology Major

Hello, my name is Riley Hemenover. I am a third-year Psychology student with minors in Child
Development, Family Studies, and Studio Art. I have been the Officer of Student Affairs for the
past year and am confident that I will excel in the role again.
I work at the Gutswurrak Student Activities Center, which has allowed me a great opportunity to
be in touch with students and their needs. Over this past academic year, I have worked towards
informing more students about Associated Students in order to help them learn about the
resources available to them. I have done this through working alongside my committee to plan
outreach events as a part of Associated Students. I have also worked alongside different A.S.
funded programs (WRC, CCAT, WRRAP, and SWB) to ensure that they have the funding
necessary to be a successful resource for students. This allows for feedback on what resources
students use most and what we can do to get other programs to be as well-known.
In the next year, I plan to accomplish what I have already done and more. I want students to feel
more comfortable expressing their needs and seeing results. I want to make sure that students
are aware of all of the campus resources that are available to them, that are there for their
support to succeed. I also want to ensure that the resources students most value are the ones
that are getting the most funding, as it is your student dollars paying for a lot of these resources.
I want to support students in whatever ways they need during their time at Cal Poly Humboldt.
I hope that you consider voting for me as your Officer of Student Affairs for the upcoming
academic year, and I will continue to work toward making students feel heard and supported.
