Opportunities for RWP Teacher Consultants (TCs)
We are pleased to offer multiple paid opportunities for RWP TCs to get involved this year. Please see our FAQs below to see what opportunities are available this year, what the requirements are, what facilitators must keep track, and how and when you will be paid.

Opportunities for Paid RWP Involvement:
- Purpose: Organize and facilitate a book group focused on a literacy, writing, and/or writing pedagogy text. You can also use online resources as your "book"
- Responsibilities: Choose text; advertise/recruit/register; create agendas; send email reminders; take attendance; facilitate meetings; share roster and attendance with RWP.
- Participant Units: If your group meets for roughly 7.5 hours, RWP can apply to Extended Ed to offer .5 unit for purchase. If your group meets for 15 hours, we can offer 1.0 unit.
- Your Pay: RWP pays Professional Book Group facilitators between $500 - $1000 depending on specifics including number of facilitators, number of hours and meetings, number of participants, and communication and planning labor involved (like agendas and emails).
- Participant Pay: This year we will be able to pay participants $100 for 7.5 hours and $200 for 15 hours. (This amount is always dependent on our funding and the number of participants.)
- Additional: RWP can build advertisements and either email to you to disseminate or send for you. RWP can create Google forms for registration. RWP provides coaching/feedback to all facilitators.
- Purpose: Organize and facilitate a small group focused on a specific task or topic of inquiry. (For example, creating a site glossary of writing terms or improving assessment practices.)
- Responsibilities: Advertise/recruit/register; create agendas; send email reminders; take attendance; facilitate meetings; share roster and attendance with RWP.
- Participant Units: If your group meets for roughly 7.5 hours, RWP can apply to Extended Ed to offer .5 unit for purchase. If your group meets for 15 hours, we can offer 1.0 unit.

- Purpose: Plan and facilitate a 75 minute conference session appropriate for K-5, 6-12, or K-12 teachers. This year's theme is Think Globally, Write Locally: Promoting Awareness and Change with Writing. (Wording might change slightly.)
- Responsibilities: Submit session proposal by deadline in January. Plan session and create an agenda for participants, attend at least one coaching session, and attend the full conference.
- Participant Units: Both participants and facilitators who stay the full day are eligible for 1.0 unit of EE credit.
Your Pay: $400 per session. *You can also co-present but pay may be divided. Conference registration and catered lunch are provided for free.
- Purpose: Plan and facilitate a 3 hour workshop on Zoom. This year's theme is New Perspectives, New Directions: The Evolving Art and Joy of Teaching Writing (Wording might change slightly.)
- Responsibilities: Submit session proposal by deadline in February. Plan session and create an agenda for participants, attend at least one coaching session. Note that these workshops include planning and discussion time for participants (we don't expect or want you to talk for 3 hours).
- Participant Units: Both participants and facilitators who attend five or more sessions are eligible for 1.0 unit of EE credit.
- Your Pay: $600 per workshop. *You can also co-present with another TC but pay may be divided.
FAQs
In order to provide financial support, RWP requires the following:
- RWP log on any advertisements (contact rwp@humboldt.edu if you'd like help with this)
- An attendance list that is updated after every meeting (downloadable template here)
- Agenda ("rolling" agenda is fine) with specific meeting dates and times
- Full names of participants with emails and school site
- A list of stipend eligible participants and their emails that matches the attendance record
Generally speaking, you can expect your stipend approximately ____________weeks after your program is finished and you have completed form 204 (please see the next FAQ for more information about that form.
If it's been X weeks and you still haven't received your stipend, please contact us at rwp@humboldt.edu and we will look into it for you.
It is important that you complete Form 204 ASAP as it's required for processing your stipend for attending RWP programs. Stipends cannot be completed without a current form 204 on file. Here is the link to the Form 204.
Here are some quick instructions to make sure this form is complete:
- Section 2 Payee Information = Please enter your full name in both the Legal Business Name and the Sole Proprietor boxes. Enter your full mailing address in both the Remittance Address and the Business Address boxes.
- Section 3 Payee Entity Type = Select "Individual or Sole Proprietor" and enter your Social Security Number.
- Section 4 Payee Residency Status = Select "California Resident", Country of Residency type "USA", and "I am a US Citizen"
- Section 6 Preferred Method of Payment = Select either EFT/ACH (include bank information if you want auto deposit) or Check (to have check mailed).
- Section 7 = Type in "Teacher" for job title, Signature, and complete Telephone number. Look for the "Click to Sign" button on the bottom.
One more step = Adobe Sign will email you a link to confirm your signature on the form. Find this new email and confirm your signature and then you are done!
