Giving to Geography
Cal Poly Humboldt's Department of Geography, Environment & Spatial Analysis has a strong sense of community, and the many donors who support our efforts are an important part of it.
To help ensure students continue to receive the highest-quality education possible, we recommend three key areas where donors can make the greatest impact:
Field-based learning and travel give students valuable opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom through hands-on experiences in communities, landscapes, and professional settings. Donors can help support transportation, lodging, equipment, and other travel costs for field courses, conferences, and applied learning experiences.
Guest speakers and professional development opportunities connect students with scholars, alumni, and practitioners working in geography, environmental analysis, GIS, planning, and related fields. Donors can help support speaker fees, travel expenses, workshops, and career-building events that expand student learning beyond the classroom.
Technology, labs, and learning spaces are essential for supporting student success in mapping, spatial analysis, field methods, and environmental research. Donors can help fund updated geospatial technologies, field and lab equipment, software, and improvements to student learning environments.
With your support in these key areas, our students will have the experiences they need to learn, grow, and help create a more sustainable and just future.
Whether it is special learning opportunities like fieldwork, travel, or community engagement, access to new technologies, labs, or improved facilities, donors like you have the power to enrich the student experience at Cal Poly Humboldt.
