Rodeo
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Men's and Women's Rodeo team as a new sport offering to Cal Poly Humboldt! We are in the early stages of establishing this exciting addition, so stay tuned for updates and more information to come. Join us in experiencing the thrill and tradition of rodeo sports!
Membership
The Lumberjack Rodeo program is open to both competitive and non-competitive members. To become a competitive member of the Cal Poly Humboldt Rodeo Program, individuals must meet the membership requirements specified by NIRA and Cal Poly Humboldt requirements. The criterion for competitive membership is as follows.
NIRA Membership Requirements:
- Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Complete 12 academic credit hours per term
- Be a dues-paying, card-carrying member
- Abide by the NIRA Code of Conduct
- High school transcripts are required for incoming first-year students
Cal Poly Humboldt Rodeo Membership Requirements:
- Attend scheduled practice sessions, member meetings and program events
- Register for the team using link below (Do Sports Easy)
- Pay additional insurance fees
- Sign waiver for participation and livestock agreement for personal use/boarding of livestock at practice facility
While prior experience with competitive rodeo and horses or livestock is highly recommended, it is not always necessary to become a member of the Cal Poly Humboldt Rodeo program.
