Recreational Sports

Get moving. Get playing. Get involved.

The Rec Sports program offers the perfect blend of fitness, fun, and community. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking to try something new, we have a sport for you.

Regular physical activity boosts your energy, improves your mood, and helps you stay on top of your game both academically and personally. Our programs are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to students of all skill levels and backgrounds. And you'll meet new friends, build lasting relationships, and become part of a vibrant community that shares your passion for sports and recreation. There’s no better way to de-stress, have fun, and make the most of your time at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Sport Clubs

Sport Clubs provide students with leadership opportunities and a more rigorous athletic experience. There are two tiers of Sport Club teams. COMPETITIVE teams practice 2-3 times per week and compete against other off-campus clubs and Universities. Rec Sports also administers RECREATIONAL TIER clubs. These are clubs that practice, but do not compete against other clubs or schools. Members of both tiers of clubs have to pay a $25 insurance fee each year.

Intramural Sports

The Intramural Sports Program at Humboldt is designed to offer students, faculty/staff and community members recreational activities in which they can participate on campus. Intramural Sports offers team sports in a variety of competitive levels, depending on the participants' skill level and interests. Team sign ups begin January 1st online at imleagues.com and games will start week 5 or 6 of the semester depending on the league. The regular season lasts for 5 weeks, and will have a single elimination tournament. Look for specific details on imleagues.
