This course offers students the opportunity to safely learn and enjoy the sport of surfing! Designed for the individual having little to no surfing experience, this course focuses on water safety, surf etiquette, ocean awareness, surfboard handling and technique. We will surf where the best conditions are for beginning surfers.
PLEASE NOTE: there is a mandatory pre trip meeting forthis activity. Please see offering dates below for more details.
Program includes: High quality beginner on-shore instruction, on-water assistance from highly trained and qualified surf instructors, wetsuit, booties, and surfboard.
<p><strong>Transportation: </strong>Accessible transportation options available upon request with advanced notice.</p><p><strong>Terrain:</strong> The parking lot at moonstone is uneven and unpaved. The trail to the river is uneven on sandy terrain.</p><p><strong>Vessels: </strong>Surf boards are foam top and 8-11 feet.</p><p><strong>Mobility: </strong>Surfing requires the ability to paddle laying flat on your stomach. Participants must know how to and be able to swim independently.</p><p>Contact Outdoor Adventure prior to the event for accessibility-related accommodations.</p>
