Join us for a backpacking trip on one of the most beautiful trails in Northern California, the South Kelsey Trail! This 5-mile out-and-back trail is great for beginners and seasoned backpackers alike: with gorgeous trail views and swimming holes along the way, how can it not be?! With a relatively short distance, frequent breaks and a slow pace, this is a perfect opportunity for beginner backpackers to connect with other nature lovers.
NOTE: There is a required pre-trip meeting for this course at the Outdoor Adventures Main Office to give you trip information, get your gear, decide on food plans, and more. Please check the dates and times and make sure you can attend the meeting for your selected trip. If you are unable to attend, please contact us.
Pre-Trip Meeting - 5:00PM - 7:00PM Monday March 24, 2025
Program Fee Includes: Experienced professional guides who have backcountry medical training, transportation to and from trailhead, backcountry permits, and 4 fully prepared meals (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast). Program fee also includes any rental gear needed for the trip that participants do not have on their own. Participants must bring their own lunches and snacks.
Transportation: Transportation is included in this course. Accessible transportation options available upon request with advanced notice. Participants will be meeting at Cal Poly Humboldt Library Circle.
