Safety

Rave Guardian

Rave Guardian is a free mobile app for personal safety. Through the app, you can get connected to emergency services (University Police on-campus, 911 off-campus), receive campus-wide notifications of safety hazards, and invite your "Guardians" to join your safety network. Guardians are friends, family, others that you trust, and once they're in your network, you can request that they virtually accompany you on potentially unsafe trips. You can also share your location, even without a cell signal.

Rave Guardian is available on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. For more information: https://www.ravemobilesafety.com/rave-guardian-app/

CAT provides 24-hour, completely confidential support to any Humboldt student, staff, or faculty member who wants to talk about the harm they’ve survived or explore their options for support and/or holding accountable the person who harmed them.

CAT offers individual counseling and support groups led by certified sexual assault counselors. They offer support no matter where you are in your process of healing or when the harm happened. CAT will accompany you to the hospital or to file a report, they will work to answer any questions you may have, and can also provide you with referrals for local therapists and other community resources that may fit your needs.

Humboldt Clery Act Compliance

Clery Act Overview

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act for short) became federal law in 1990. It is considered a consumer protection law that focuses on transparency around campus crime policy and statistics. We hope this creates a more transparent culture, fostering trust of prospective families and ensuring an environment that encourages students’ academic and emotional security. For more information on the Clery Act and resources, please click here.
