CHECK IT is about creating a campus culture that’s more rooted within a sense of community where we all look out for one another and have each other’s backs.
CHECK IT is about making clear to those who commit acts of violence that it is not acceptable and we are not going to put up with it in our community.
CHECK IT is about strategizing as a community different ways we can take action when we see potential moments of harm happening around us so that in those moments we have the tools to do something instead of nothing.

University Policies
Academic honesty is of serious concern at Humboldt. It is integral to all six principles for building successful campus community, especially to the maintenance of a "just" and "disciplined" campus. Students are expected to maintain high standards of academic integrity.
Cal Poly Humboldt subscribes to a drug-free campus and workplace.
The Cal Poly Humboldt Appropriate Use Policy contains the governing philosophy for regulating faculty, student, and staff use of the University's computing, communications, and information resources. It spells out the general principles regarding appropriate use of data, equipment, software, and networks.
Students have the right to attend and participate in all classes for which they are officially enrolled. They may be denied only for the purpose of maintaining suitable circumstances for teaching and learning. Any student who has neglected the work of the course or is disruptive to the educational process may be excluded from a course.
Students at Humboldt assume the responsibility for conducting themselves in a manner compatible with the university's function as an educational institution and in a way that will not impair achievement of the university's education mission. Inappropriate conduct by students or applicants for admission is subject to discipline as provided in sections 41301 through 41304 of article 1.1, Title 5, California Code of Regulations.
Complaints against Faculty, Staff, or Administrators
The purpose of the Student Grievance Procedure is to provide a means by which a student may pursue a complaint against a member of the faculty, staff, or administration at Humboldt for an alleged violation of campus policy or to appeal a grade.
The web presents an unparalleled venue for communication with vast and diverse external constituencies, thus its administration at Cal Poly Humboldt shall be coordinated by the University Web Office. The web, in its design and use, lacks explicit mechanisms for control; however, it can also foster an effective, comprehensive presentation of university information. Such a presentation requires coordination and quality. Though guided by the University Web Office, the responsibility for ensuring that Cal Poly Humboldt's quality image is protected is shared by all who contribute to it.
The purpose of these procedures is to provide an opportunity to resolve matters alleging discrimination to students and to employees who are not covered by collective bargaining agreements or California State University system-wide procedures for processing complaints of discrimination.
Cal Poly Humboldt is committed to maintaining an environment free from sexual harassment and sexual assault. Sexual harassment and sexual assault will not be tolerated by the University. They subvert the mission of the University and threaten the careers, educational experience, and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. Sexual harassment interferes with a student's educational performance or an employee's work and creates an atmosphere of intimidation, low morale and hostility that the University cannot permit. Sexual harassment and sexual assault also can cause long term damage to the life and health of victims.
