Pamela Long

The majority of Pam’s working life was in broadcast radio as a programmer, producer, copy writer, and show host. After 23 years of radio, Pam segued into the wine industry.

Working for small, family-owned wineries in Sonoma County supplied her with plenty of opportunity to learn hands-on the process of winemaking. However, being in the vineyard and learning about the vines and terroir was where Pam connected the dots and discovered that her wine journey would be about education – her own education through the Napa Valley Wine Academy and then sharing her knowledge with wine enthusiasts about the fundamentals of wine appreciation and the fascinating process of growing grapes and crafting wine.

Pam returned to Humboldt County in 2014. She and a few other local wine industry professionals, launched Humboldt State University's first wine studies certificated program through Extended Education.

Pam occasionally presents wine classes for OLLI and Extended Education, and also teaches seminars independently throughout the county.
