This presentation will focus on both the practical and legal aspects of elder abuse including information on common scams, tips for spotting and preventing elder abuse, and legal tools and remedies available to victims of elder abuse.

Jenny Anders-Gable is regional counsel at Legal Services of Northern California, and leads the firm's advocacy for older adults and disaster-related legal assistance. She works with Area 1 Agency on Aging offices throughout Northern California, and specializes in the representation of older adults including protecting and defending against elder abuse in all of its forms.
Rebecca Smith is the managing attorney of the Redwood Regional Office of Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC). The mission of Legal Services of Northern California is to provide quality legal services to empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty within our community, efficiently utilizing all available resources. LSNC handles housing, public benefits, health, natural disaster, senior, and civil rights cases for eligible individuals.
