Gardening

Campus Center for Appropriate Technology (CCAT) grows a variety of fresh herbs and salad greens. Student staff takes care of the garden, ensuring it flourishes year-round, providing students with an opportunity to experience firsthand the rewards of growing their own food.
The garden not only provides fresh produce but also serves as a learning hub for sustainable practices. They host gardening workshops that teach students the essentials of gardening—from planting seeds to harvesting your own food. These hands-on workshops are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to grow their own food, whether in a garden bed, small container, or even an apartment balcony.
Check out the garden and learn how to grow your own food, nurture the planet, and enjoy the fruits (and veggies) of your labor!
Other amazing gardens and volunteers opportunities can happen at Potawot Health Village. You can contact Potawot for volunteering opportunites or through Cal Poly Humboldt YES program.
