Betsy Rogers
Academic Advisor - Student Support Coordinator
Betsy Rogers brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Cal Poly Humboldt certificate programs and the Leadership Studies degree completion program.
She earned a B.A. in nature and culture, and an M.A. in education, both from the University of California, Davis.
Betsy is passionate about working with adult learners and transfer students to help them successfully navigate systems and reach their personal, professional and academic goals. Her master's research on identity development in young leaders helps her cater her work to unique individuals by learning their stories, and helping them envision and pursue the next stage of their lives.
Betsy has worked in student services in the UC and CSU systems since 2002, most recently as an academic advisor at Humboldt since 2016. Before that, she managed the “Learning by Leading Program™,” a large-scale environmental internship program and taught for the Leadership Academic Theme Program, both at UC Davis.
When not enjoying work, Betsy is playing in Humboldt’s spectacular wild places with her family and yellow lab, Otter. She also loves gardening, raising chickens, attending community events, traveling, yoga, reading and journaling.
