Commercial Use of Property

Commercial Filming

Commercial filming must follow the Commercial Visual And Sound Productions Policy and requires written approval from the Office of Marketing & Communications: marcom@humboldt.edu or (707) 826-3321.    

Commercial Transactions, Commercial Solicitation, and Solicitation for Donations

  • Cal Poly Humboldt prohibits all non-University commercial activity on University property unless specifically approved by the Dean of Students or designee. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • The distribution of commercial literature and other such products and services. 
    • No non-affiliate of the University may solicit, sell, or rent any goods, wares, merchandise, liquids, or edibles for human consumption or services on University property, operate any commercial enterprise, or give any lessons, classes or instruction on University property, whether for profit or otherwise, unless specifically authorized by the Dean of Students or designee. 
    • For purposes of this regulation, soliciting and selling includes the leafleting or distribution of advertisements or other promotional devices and products with the intent to sell.
  • All solicitation, commercial solicitation, and private sale are prohibited unless approved in advance by the University Dean of Students or designee (Title 5 California Code of Regulations, section 42350.6). The University shall determine and restrict time, place, and means of distribution of all commercial solicitations. All commercial solicitors must be approved to sell any product on campus. Only approved and certified university vendors are allowed to sell food on campus. General solicitation of food is prohibited.
