A Campus Community Gathering
Join the conversation on Friday, August 18th, 9 am to 12 pm. Doors open at 7:45 at the Van Duzer Theater. Come enjoy breakfast and community.
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, in partnership with the Center for Teaching & Learning and the University Senate, invites the campus community to join us for Professional Development (PD) Day 2023, Friday, August 18th, from 9 am to 12 pm, to reflect on Cal Poly Humboldt’s future as a model for diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice.
Cultural Transformation is embedded into Cal Poly Humboldt’s Strategic Plan and relies on every faculty and staff member to make meaningful strides toward racial equity, student success, welcoming and belonging. Join us in our work toward a common goal of making Cal Poly Humboldt equitable, just, and inclusive.
PD Day 2023 will launch the Institutional Anti-Racism Action Plan Task Force's one-year consultative effort to engage the campus community in the development of an Anti-Racism Action Plan. Keynote Speaker Dr. Clyde Wilson Pickett will introduce the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education's (NADOHE) guidance and anti-racism action plan framework, followed by break-out sessions to reflect upon how the Cal Poly Humboldt community can work together to be anti-racist and socially equitable. Together, we will begin to form the structure of our unique Institutional Anti-Racism Action Plan while actively engaging in cultural transformation through our collective ideas and practices.
