About COMPASS/INRSEP
Students participating in each of the COMPASS programs represent a diverse group within the Cal Poly Humboldt College of Natural Resources and Sciences (CNRS) community. Representing tribal nations and other communities, our students come from rural, suburban and urban areas and reservations. COMPASS staff and students strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can safely share their experiences, their traditions, and their values with other like-minded individuals. We specialize in assisting STEMM students who are the first in their family to go to college, and those from backgrounds that may be underrepresented in a STEMM career they wish to pursue.
Application Process
Our students have access to the COMPASS house, including a study area, computer lab, and kitchenette. COMPASS programs are associated with national, state, and professional organizations and agencies. We invite you to learn more about our programs, and join us. The application process includes the following requirements:
- Completed interest form
- Intake interview with one of our program staff members to review your academic pathway and career goals.
- After your interview you will be assigned a COMPASS advisor whose expertise most closely matches your interests and career goals.
