Guide for Advisors
The U.S. Department of Education Resources Guide hopes that educators, schools, and campuses will, as they see fit, draw upon the tips and examples in this Guide to better support undocumented youth and, ultimately, move us closer to the promises of college and career readiness for all.
With the UndocCollege Guide and Equity Tool, Educators for Fair Consideration (E4FC) “hoped that the following information and frameworks can help institutional leaders and educator advocates enhance their ability to advocate for undocumented student success and generate momentum and political will necessary to address some of the most pressing challenges undocumented students face in higher education. We see this publication as a living document and we are confident that all the feedback we receive will only strength further versions of this publications.
Act on the DREAM Summit
On April 27, 2017, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities convened a meeting of more than three dozen national higher education and immigration organizations, including leading federal lawmakers, to discuss the issues surrounding DACA and undocumented students. To learn more about the ACT on the DREAM Summit, please download a copy of the Summit Report and Summary.
Among the outcomes of this meeting was the development of a national online resources center to better serve DACA/DREAMers and HSIs to provide a centralized registry of information for DACA/DREAMers and their families. The CRC will rely on user-generated information. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to recommend or submit resources to HACU for inclusion in the CRC. HACU will support the CRC through regular updates and on-going development of this webpage content and design.
