Katrina Hagen-Radlick, Politics, 1994, was recently appointed by the Governor as the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, based in Oakland, California. The Department of Industrial Relation's core functions include: CalOSHA, Division of Workers Compensation, and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

Joseph Torralba, Sociology, 1996, recently retired from the Department of Justice-Bureau of Prisons after 22 years. Torralba served previously in Los Angeles and Lompoc, California. and Hazelton, West Virginia.

Harry D. Bartley

History, 1966

Harry Bartley, History, 1966, retired in 2013 after 28 years at Tektronix. His wife of 42 years died suddenly in 2014. Bartley says he is looking for any former Intercollegiate Knights. He attended the last football homecoming and would like to contact anyone from the Yurok chapter, which he was active in from 1964 to 1967.

Robert P. Robinson

After teaching K-12 for 11 years, Robert Robinson, English, 2004, pursued a PhD in Urban Education with a concentration in Africana Studies at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. In March 2020, he remotely defended his dissertation with distinction. His doctoral research project, Stealin’ the Meetin’: Black Education History & the Black Panthers’ Oakland Community School, tells the story of the Panthers’ educational center as a site for understanding Black self-determination, the Black radical imagination, and the shift in mainstream curriculum.

Pam Webb, English, 1987, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of her book Someday We Will, published by Beaming Books. Robert Deane, Journalism, 2007, works as a Library Technician II for the Oregon Tech Library in Klamath Falls, Oregon. In February of 2020 Deane graduated with his Masters in Education: Social Studies, from Western Governor's University and is now working on his Masters in Library Science from St. John's University via distance education.

Aaron Louis Cobas

PoliticsMinor: Environmental Policy, 2016

Since graduating, Aaron Louis Cobas, Politics, 2016, has been trying to acquire his dream position that he has wanted since the age of nine years old. Last December, that dream came true. Cobas has accepted a full-time position as a Park Ranger for New Mexico State Parks. Ever since he was little his fondest memories have been going up into the Sierras, as well as Yosemite and Joshua Tree, looking at the majesty that is our public lands. Because of the education and training he received at HSU he has an exciting new chapter in life and the new adventures that come with it.
