Free Night of films from the HIFF Archives in the John Van Duzer Theatre. The Humboldt International Film Fest 'Film Night Events' are hosted by the students enrolled in Film 260 (Humboldt Film Festival) and the Humboldt Fest Student club. They are planned as prioritized events to strengthen positive student experiences as well as create more accessible opportunities for underrepresented students to build community on campus.

Arts! Arcata
Arts! Arcata is produced by Arcata Main Street and the downtown community. For years, it has been a self guided celebration of visual and performing arts nested inside our dynamic downtown businesses and a great opportunity to meet local artists and enjoy being downtown at a safe, family friendly year-round community event. Arts! Arcata happens every second weekend of the month.
Art & Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon
The Art & Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon happens annually in the Humboldt Library. Art+Feminism builds a community of activists that is committed to closing information gaps related to gender, feminism, and the arts, beginning with Wikipedia.
CCACA
For over 25 years, Humboldt ceramics faculty and students have been invited to participate in CCACA (California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art), in Davis, CA. We are hopeful that we will be able to participate in this event once again, this coming spring. Exhibiting our work at the CCACA conference each year helps promote our program to a wide audience and informs and educates those who would like to know more about what we do and what Humboldt has to offer as an educational institution.
Games Night
The Art Department’s Discord Game Night is a time where art students can get together and get to know their classmates through games such as Skribbl.io. Skribbl.io is an online pictionary game where players take turns drawing and having others guess what it is. This event is held on the Art Department’s Discord. Discord is a free instant messaging and voice chat application where you can join communities on servers. To join the Art Department’s server, students will be sent an invite link through email once the semester starts. The Game Night is usually held on the first Friday of every month, however sometimes it’s subject to change so keep your eye on the Game Night channel on the Art Department Discord.
Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art Club
The mission of the Women’s Caucus for Art is to create community through art, education, and social activism. NCWCA is committed to recognizing the contribution of women in the arts; providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development; expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women; supporting local, national and global art activism; and advocating for equity in the arts for all.
Jewelry and Small Metals Open Studios
During finals week the jewelry and small metals studio is opened up to the public as an opportunity for jewelry students to showcase their work from the semester in a relaxed open house format. Jewelry faculty and staff are present to answer questions and provide short tours of the space and the Jewelry and Small Metals Club (JSMC) hosts a sale to raise funds for their annual field trip to the Yuma Symposium.
Jewelry and Small Metals Club
An organization within the Humboldt Art Department that gives students an opportunity to make and sell their own work, as well as finding connections within the art community. It is our goal to create learning opportunities for the student body through workshops and guest artists, as well as regular monthly meetings and sales on campus. We also plan trips to different events, such as the Yuma Art Symposium, where our club members may network and explore the wonderful world of metal arts through demos by world renowned artists and teachers.
The JSMC also offers work for sale throughout the year in the "hot box" display outside of the jewelry studio and vends annually at the Arcata Holiday Market. Jewelry club members also enjoy maker nights in the jewelry studio and local field trips to locations like Agate Beach, Chapman's Gem and Mineral Shop, the Blacksmith Shop, and other metals-related locations and exhibitions on the north coast.

University Sculptors Alliance
Our purpose is to exist as a student-run organization dedicated to the support and sponsorship of three-dimensional sculpture for the student, faculty and staff at Cal Poly Humboldt. The University Sculptors Alliance assists three-dimensional artists to gain required knowledge and field experience pertaining to art and the installation of group and/or individual art exhibitions. Our club operates as an outlet to host group discussions concerning three-dimensional artistic awareness and serve as a forum for artists to voice their opinions and exercise their individual rights. We encourage an atmosphere where members have the opportunity to develop individual leadership and organizational skills as well as help to encourage community amongst peers. We aim to be a foundation for which future sculptors may build upon. University Sculptors Alliance’s ultimate aspiration is the mutual representation of all interests expressed by its actively enrolled membership.
