WSCUC student outreach events

Steering committee members hosted tabling events on the quad in late October. Students were informed about accreditation and the reaffirmation process and encouraged to complete the Student Comment Form while snacking on donuts donated by the Office of Academic Affairs.

Steering committee members host virtual town hall meetings

Campus stakeholders were invited to four virtual town hall meetings in September and early October to discuss the four WSCUC accreditation standards and to solicit feedback from the campus community. The feedback forms can be found here.

First steering committee meeting

Faculty, staff, and student representatives joined the Accreditation Coordinating Committee to form the official WSCUC 2026 Accreditation Steering Committee. At the initial meeting on September 4, writing guidelines and resources were shared and teams were assigned essays to write for the draft of the institutional report.

Launch of steering committee and campus outreach

The Office of Academic Programs has modified its Accreditation web page to feature a timeline of events that will lead to the submission of Cal Poly Humboldt’s institutional report for reaffirmation of accreditation in June 2025 and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) review team’s campus visit in March-April 2026.

Watch for regular updates here throughout the academic year as event dates and details are solidified and as opportunities emerge to contribute and stay informed.

WSCUC liaison campus visit

WSCUC Vice President and Staff Liaison Maureen Maloney visited the Cal Poly Humboldt campus in late March 2024. After a day of meetings with university leadership, she finished the day by offering a short accreditation orientation before the University Senate.

Dr. Maloney’s visit served to kick off preparations for a series of events and a good deal of hard work across the coming academic year. These efforts will initially peak with the submission of the university’s institutional report for accreditation in June 2025 and later culminate with a review team campus visit spring 2026 and a subsequent decision regarding the reaffirmation of Cal Poly Humboldt’s accreditation.
