Meenal Rana teaches Child Development at Humboldt State University. Meenal’s passion for Indian cooking has its foundations in her upbringing in an Indian household, where cooking three meals was a norm. She has fond memories of her mother cooking delicious meals to share with family and friends. Additionally, her B.S. in home economics, with foods and nutrition as one of the focus areas, added the scientific and nurturing aspects of food to her passion. Meenal bases the art of cooking on the following principles: Love and passion are important ingredients of cooking; mindful cooking enhances the taste and nutritional aspects of food; share food and water with anyone who comes at your home, and; the day-to-day meals should be delicious, economic, and sustainable.
