To many, Joni Mitchell is considered a genius, an icon, and a legend. Learn how she broke barriers in a male-dominated industry to became one of the most influential singer/songwriters in popular music. She says that painting is her first love, and she is also recognized as a visual artist.

The instructor will reflect on Joni’s upbringing, life challenges, and her musical evolution from early folk to jazz fusion to pop experimentation, along with her collaborations with other great musicians.

Some of Joni’s significant songs will be played in class and images of her art will be shown.
