The microbiome refers to the vast community of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and archaea, that reside in and on our bodies. We will discuss the role of the microbiome in digestion, immune function, brain function, and overall health, and elucidate the interplay between microbiota and human genome.
