With Frank Fogarty, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, & Elizabeth Meisman, Graduate Student
Learn about the variety of ways that scientists study birds to better understand the world around us. We will discuss techniques used to study wild birds and visit the Cal Poly Humboldt Wildlife Department’s museum collections. We will discuss a variety of topics including migration, responses to climate change, and the importance of long-term monitoring programs.
The course will meet in the Cal Poly Humboldt teaching laboratory and be a combination of lecture and hands-on opportunities to learn about our research collection and various techniques and technologies used to study wild birds.
