Engaging in a shadowing program in a rural, disadvantaged region offers a distinctive and rewarding chance to interact with a population that has particular healthcare issues. I want to understand and view how healthcare inequities and barriers like restricted access to medical facilities, healthcare professionals, and specialized care that rural communities frequently face can be better understood. Working in this setting will allow me to see directly the resiliency and ingenuity of the people in the community as well as the healthcare professionals who look after them.
