Steven Moore

Field Director

Steven Moore has conducted archaeological fieldwork for 35 years. He has worked with a broad range of archaeological contexts including Pleistocene-Holocene hunter-gatherer sites, mid- and late-Holocene habitations, rock shelters, rock art sites, ethnographic Native villages, Spanish missions, mid-19th century Chinese sites, late 19th and early 20th-century industrial sites. He has conducted lithic, faunal, pottery, groundstone, and paleoethnobotanical analyses. He has conducted fieldwork in California, Nevada, Idaho, Hawaii, and Oregon. His research interests include hunter-gatherer lifeways, landscape archaeology, experimental archaeology and artifact replication, and paleoenvironmental reconstruction.
