Rianna Bowen, RPA

Rianna is a Registered Professional Archaeologist with a BA from UC Santa Cruz and an MA from Louisiana State University, both in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology. She is skilled in artifact identification and analysis, site recordation, mapping and report writing.

As a Senior Research Associate, I lead archaeological investigations in California, train technicians and students in archaeological field methods, write technical reports, and assess site eligibility. I have been working in contract archaeology since 2014 and have worked all across the continental United States with a bulk of my time spent working in Louisiana, the midwest, and California. I have been the field director on many forest service surveys and participated in large-scale infrastructure line surveys and Phase II-III testing and data recovery. I began working with CRF in the summer of 2021 while completing my graduate degree. Since starting with CRF I have supervised and led numerous survey projects as well as managed and completed post-field paperwork and report writing. Additionally, I have worked off and on in the Maya Lowlands of Belize since 2013, originally as a student and more recently as a staff archaeologist supervising and leading large scale excavations
