Michael McDermott

Research Associate and GIS Specialist

Michael McDermott is a GIS Specialist and Research Associate for the Cultural Resource Facility. Michael received a GIS Certificate from Portland Community College in 2016 and a BA in Geography with a minor in Geospatial Analysis and a minor in Anthropology from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2019. Over the last 6 years, Michael has been integrating GIS into every aspect of his work and personal life. Michael has a passion for modeling and visualizing Lidar data in a variety of environmental and archeological scenarios. Analysis and maps produced by Michael have been published in the MDPI Remote Sensing Journal and in the Humboldt Journal for Social Relation.
