Daily Crime Log

The University Police Department maintains Cal Poly Humboldt's Daily Crime Log. Click the button below to access this information. This website is provided as a public service and in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act requirements by the University Police Department. In an effort to protect victim privacy this website does not provide information regarding juvenile offenders, or specific information regarding calls for service that are sensitive in nature. Reading the Daily Crime Log

The University Police Department's Daily Crime/Fire Log Bulletin is based on the requirements and recommendations from CSU policy. It covers UPD's patrol jurisdiction, which includes our campus' Clery Geography, in addition to other areas. There are six columns on the Daily Crime/Fire Log Bulletin:

• Nature: general crime classification
• Case/Incident #: each situation or crime is assigned a case number or incident number; this helps UPD keep track of all situations.
• Reported: date/time the situation was reported
• Occured: this is left blank if the date/time reported is the same as the date/time occured
• Location: general location where the crime occured
• Disposition: the current status of the situation or crime
  • Something you may see often is "Rims Documentation Only". Rims is UPD's records management system; many situations did not result in an arrest, citation, or other action from UPD so it was only noted in the system.

Clery Act Crime Categories

Institutions of higher education must include four distinct categories of crime in their Annual Security Report crime data, as well as on the Daily Crime Log linked above. 

Criminal Offenses
Defined in the Summary Reporting System (SRS) User Manual from the FBI's UCR Program

• Criminal homicide: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, manslaughter by negligence
• Rape
• Robbery
• Aggravated assault
• Burglary
• Motor vehicle theft
• Arson

Defined in the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) User Manual from the FBI's UCR Program

• Fondling
• Incest
• Statutory Rape

Hate Crimes (any of the above-mentioned offenses, and any incidents of)
Defined in the Hate Crime Data Collection Guidelines and Training Manual

• Larceny-theft
• Simple assault
• Intimidation
• Destruction/damage/vandalism of property

VAWA Offenses
Defined in the Violence Against Women Act of 1994

• Domestic violence
• Dating violence
• Stalking

Arrests and Referrals for Disciplinary Action
Defined by State law in BPC, and HSC codes; and local laws

• Weapons law violations
• Drug abuse violations
• Liquor law violations
