Provost's Communication - September 26, 2022

September 26, 2022

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. It was Humboldt hot and I hope you were able to find some time to get outside or do something that you love. I hit the Arcata farmer’s market and went for some walks and a run with two very happy pups!

Assessment Faculty Fellows

Please let me introduce our three fabulous assessment faculty fellows this academic year. They are Dr. Michelle L. Cartier (CAHSS), Dr. Ara Pachmayer (CPS), and Dr. Sherrene Bogle (CNRS). The Faculty Assessment Fellowship Program cohort will continue to work on maintaining a culture of assessment. The program is designed to support and align our educational effectiveness, student success, and university accreditation efforts. They will provide professional development opportunities facilitating individual faculty and departmental priorities and programming focusing on learning outcomes, program review, and GEAR assessment.

It will include the Ethnic Studies Speakers Series from 10 am-3 pm in the Native American Forum (BSS 162) followed by a tabling fair & DJ celebration in the Wiyot Plaza (BSS Courtyard) from 4-8 pm. Visit the website for more details and a complete schedule of activities.

Join the Campus Pride Coordinating Subcommittee

A subcommittee is being assembled to plan and complete Humboldt's Campus Pride Index. This is an important opportunity to not only update our index (last completed in 2015-2016), but also increase communication and community across campus. Dr. Benjamin Graham (he/they) will be coordinating the project, and all are welcome to join this important effort! If you would like to join the subcommittee, please email Benjamin.Graham@humboldt.edu.

Have a wonderful week and thank you for all that you do.
