Good morning everyone, I hope you had a nice weekend. It has been an incredibly busy and exciting time around Cal Poly Humboldt and it has been wonderful to see so many of you around at events like the celebration of our tenured and promoted faculty as well as the 70th Anniversary of SPF to name a few!

Call for Letters of Intent: STEM-NET Faculty Interdisciplinary Collaborative Research SEED Grant Program

Letters of Intent (LOI) are due by Thursday, October 6, 2022 for consideration for nomination to the STEM-NET Faculty Interdisciplinary Collaborative Research SEED Grant Program. The program aims to support and encourage the development of interdisciplinary research and scholarship collaborations by faculty members in STEM and the social sciences, humanities, and arts. STEM-NET SEED grants will fund activities that support the submission of large external grants, aligned with STEM-NET’s mission and vision. Submit your letter of intent here.

One LOI will be selected for nomination on behalf of Cal Poly Humboldt. The full submission is due to the chancellor’s office by November 1, 2022.

Call for Honorary Degree Nominations

CSU campuses have awarded honorary degrees to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated excellence in areas that benefit CSU campuses; the state, nation and/or world; and/or humanity. Recipients serve as examples to be recognized and honored for their exemplary contributions. See the list of Honorary Degrees Presented by Cal Poly Humboldt.

As chair of the campus nominating committee for the awarding of honorary degrees, I invite your nominations for honorary degrees to be conferred either at the Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies or at another appropriate time. Nominations are due to the committee by Friday, October 21, 2022.

Nominations need to include: the full name of the nominee, two nomination letters, a brief summary of reasons the degree is deserved, a curriculum vitae or comparable biographical information, and a brief description of the relationship, if any, the nominee has with Cal Poly Humboldt. Please email nominations and supporting documents to the Provost’s Office using the following email address: OAAVP@humboldt.edu.

Thanks, everyone for all that you do.
