Hey everyone,
Happy Wednesday. I hope you are having a great week.
Campus and Community Dialogue on Race (CDOR)
The Campus and Community Dialogue on Race kicked off this past Monday and this year’s program includes over 30 different workshops presented by faculty, students, staff, and community members. Since 1998, CDOR has sought to create safe spaces for critical dialogue on race. You can view the full program here.
Theater of War: Hector, Andromache, and the Death of Astyanax
The Theater of War is part of the Campus Dialogue on Race and is scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 7 - 9:30 pm in the Van Duzer Theater. It consists of dramatic readings of selections from Homer’s Iliad, Book VI, and scenes from The Trojan Women by Euripides—featuring acclaimed actors and a chorus of Cal Poly Humboldt students, faculty, staff, and community members from a variety of backgrounds, whose lives have been impacted by war—to help frame powerful dialogue about the human cost of war, centered on the suffering of children and civilians. We hope you are able to attend. This event is free and open to all. Registration is required via Eventbrite.
The Theater of War is co-sponsored by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, and President Michael Spagna.

National Transfer Student Week
This week is National Transfer Student Week (October 21-25, 2024). With partners across campus and the Transfer Student Organization, there have been a number of workshops and social activities organized to help transfer students make connections with each other and faculty and staff on campus. Please see the schedule of events happening this week on the Humboldt Transfer Student Week website and share this with any transfer students you know. These events are also open to College of the Redwoods students. If you have questions, please feel free to email tso@humboldt.edu.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
