I hope you are having a good Wednesday and perhaps some of you caught a few snowflakes yesterday morning! It’s always clear to me who Humboldt natives are based on their reaction to the snowfall! I love it!
I decided to dedicate today’s Provost Communication to acknowledging employees who have arrived, departed, or changed roles in Academic Affairs at Cal Poly Humboldt over the last few months. Please note, this may not be an exhaustive list so if there are additional employees that have joined us or departed, please reach out to me at jec159@humboldt.edu and I will include that information in a future Provost Communication.
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
- Lorraine Casazza, Instructional Designer, departed and took a job as an instructional designer at the College of the Redwoods (January 2023)
- Dionna Ndlovu, Instructional Designer, departed (January 2023) but continues as a lecturer at Cal Poly Humboldt.
- Taylor Sorrels joined the CTL as an ASA moving from the Office of Academic Affairs (January 2023).
College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
- James Woodhead joined as a Studio Art Technician.
- Cassie Curatolo departed her position as an ASC for another position at an NGO.
- Mitch Springer joined as a Ceramics Technician.
- Samantha Williams joined as a new ASC for Dance, Music, and Theatre.
- Adrian Carcione joined as a Piano Technician (started in October).
College of Extended Education and Global Engagement (CEEGE)
- Alex Gonzalez is serving as the Grants and Contracts Specialist after her time as an emergency hire in that role (January 2023).
- Whitney Vickers is serving as CEEGE’s Communication Specialist (February 2023).
College of Natural Resources and Sciences (CNRS)
- Angela Rich moved into her role as Research Analyst in CNRS and was previously in the Office of Assessment (January 2023).
- Jonae Calderon joined as an Assistant Analyst in the Dean’s office.
- Anna Goldman joined as the Museum Coordinator in the Wildlife Department.
- Jennifer Wilson is a new lecturer in the Geology Department.
- Mark Smelser is a new lecturer in the Geology Department.
- Brian Kyte joins us as the Associate Director of the McNair Scholars Program, Humboldt, and is the primary point of contact.
- Leanarda Gregordi joins us as the Coordinator of McNair Humboldt. Lea will be coordinating student services and serve as the primary contact for student success, events, and activities.
- Alex Bippus joined Indian Natural Resources, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP+) as a permanent member of the staff. He serves as Coordinator for the Natural Resource Conservation Service Summer Internship program.
- Jacob Partida joined as a technician working in the Marine Lab.
- Alex Harper, Program Manager, CeNCOOS (Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System) relocated to Cal Poly Humboldt from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
- Cristina Tusei joined as an employee in the Chemistry Stockroom.
The College of Professional Studies
- Christopher Aberson, Professor in Psychology retired, (December 2022).
- Megan Murray, Department Coordinator of Psychology departed (January 2023).
Institutional Research, Analytics, and Reporting (IRAR)
- Steven Margell joined as an Institutional Research Analyst. Steven comes to IRAR from Academic Affairs and the HSI STEM Grant (November 2022).
- Stephanie Souter joined as an Institutional Research Analyst. Stephanie comes to IRAR from the Cal Poly Humboldt Psychology Department where she also continues to teach (January 2023).
Library
- Xandra Gradine joined the library as the new Reserves and Event Coordinator after working in the CTL (January 2023).
Provost’s Office
- Hannah Endicott is the new ASA in the Office of Academic Affairs (January 2023).
- Nate Cacciari Roy joined the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) in his new role as the OAA Budget Analyst. He comes to us from CEEGE where he served as the Budget Analyst (January 2023).
Additional updates with regard to employees joining academic affairs and moving on to new endeavors will be shared periodically.
