April 24, 2024

Good morning,

I have to admit, this email was difficult to craft during this painful time on our campus and in our community. I am quite sure that nothing I write will feel like enough or the right thing to say and thus I just aspire to acknowledge the challenging moment we are facing. We are in the midst of highly emotional times on our campus and throughout the world. I want to reaffirm that I will continue to lean in, show up, give grace, and strive to work together for the good of our students, our employees, and our community.

I have been in ongoing contact with some faculty, staff, student, and administrative leadership and will reach out with some engagement opportunities shortly, likely beginning with an invitation to an all-faculty virtual meeting later today at 4:15 pm. Zoom information to follow.

I value each of your perspectives and expertise and care deeply for our campus community.

Sincerely,

Jenn Capps
