April 19, 2023
Happy Wednesday everyone. I hope you are having a terrific week. I was fortunate to travel to Shasta College with two colleagues, Tim Downs, Interim Chief of Staff, and Peggy Metzger, Director of Financial Aid & Executive Director of Enrollment Management to explore opportunities to further partner with Shasta College. It led to great discussions about opportunities for additional articulation agreements, concurrent enrollment opportunities, and working together to solve workforce gaps in the region.
Faculty and Staff Green Lunchtime Today!
Bring your lunch and join your colleagues today, Wednesday, April 19 from 12-1 pm in FH 166, the Green & Gold Room, for the last Green Lunchtime for the year. The topic is Climate Cafés with Jacqueline Mayrand, Clinical Coordinator and Staff Psychotherapist, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). The climate crisis can bring up intense, dysregulated, or overwhelming emotions or conversely lead to a protective turning away. Learn what a Climate Café is and how it can be a space for sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences around the climate crisis.
Green Lunchtimes are a way to help faculty and staff move toward sustainability by providing opportunities for them to step outside the boundaries of their disciplines and departments, talk to each other, share ideas and insights, and see themselves as essential participants in a shared vision. If you have ideas for next year please email Jennifer Ortega, Sustainability Fellow at jmm26@humboldt.edu.
