March 18, 2024
Hello everyone,
I hope you had a nice spring break and enjoyed some of the sunny and beautiful weather over the last few days in particular. It’s been glorious.
URPC Open Forum March 25, 2024 (Postponed)
We have decided to postpone the URPC forum date until after all of the divisional reports have been completed on March 29, 2024, to allow committee members to debrief and strategize how best to utilize that information to convene a forum that best meets the needs of the campus. We hope to arrive at a new date, likely in early April, very soon.
In the meantime, many thanks to Chief of Staff Mark Johnson (President’s Office), Executive Director Nick Petit (Athletics and Recreation), Vice President Frank Whitlatch (Advancement), Executive Director Amber Blakeslee (University Wide) for their divisional reports during the Friday, March 8, 2024 meeting and to each of you that joined us. The turnout was awesome. To view the PowerPoint slides associated with the aforementioned divisional reports, click here and scroll down to “meeting schedule and notifications” and view the handouts associated with March 8, 2024. Pi(e) Day was a Hit!
Great job to Dean Oberlander and all of the Library staff for putting on a great Pi(e) day celebration. It was indeed a wonderful moment to spend time together and celebrate our employees' contributions to the campus community. And, um, there was great pie and trivia too!
Enrollment Update
Please check out the most recent enrollment update here. Enrollment management notes we are showing strong continued application and deposit activity, and they anticipate we will surpass last year's first-time undergraduate (FTUG) application volume after the March 31, 2024 application deadline passes. Our current admit totals are actually higher than last cycle, in total, and also for FTUG. This may indicate that more students are providing the information needed to complete their applications and are potentially more serious about Humboldt. It could also indicate that we are processing applications more efficiently or possibly a combination of the two. We'll see what patterns reveal themselves throughout the yield season. The next enrollment report is scheduled for April 1, 2024, which will provide additional information about the current status of Fall 2024 applications and confirmations.
