December 9, 2024
Hello and happy Monday,
I hope you all are doing okay and your nerves have settled post-earthquake. I’m appreciative of the care and compassion our community has shown to one another.
Fall 2024 Grade Deadline and Flexibility for Faculty
This is a reminder the published deadline for submitting final grades is Monday, December 23, at 11:59 pm PST. In recognition of the unique challenges posed by this year’s fall term calendar cycle—which creates an extremely brief grading window last seen in 2019 and not occurring again until 2030—we are providing additional flexibility for faculty who may need it.
While the published deadline remains unchanged, your grade rosters will remain open until Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon) PST. This allows extra time for grading and entry, while still enabling the prompt processing of grades. The midday (noon) deadline ensures we can begin grade processing promptly when campus reopens.
This extension is entirely optional and is intended to provide grace for those who may need it during this busy time of year and during this particularly brief grading cycle. Please strive to complete grade submissions by the original deadline of Monday, December 23, 2024, whenever possible. Your dedication to timely and accurate grade submissions and your ongoing commitment to our students. Much gratitude to all of the campus partners who collaborated to identify this creative solution.
