Steve directs the newly created Transformative and Restorative Education Center (TREC), which houses Project Rebound and co-curricular support to the Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree that began in Spring 2024, bringing face-to-face instruction to a maximum security (Level 4) yard at our Pelican Bay campus.  Steve has been with Project Rebound since October 2020, when it landed on the Arcata campus, and has been providing support to staff and formerly incarcerated students. He has 30+ years of experience in higher education, providing support for students who are often marginalized in educational settings.  He brings the voices of these students into every conversation.
