About Megan
Why did you choose this program?
I am from Humboldt originally, but when I was looking into credentialing programs, I was living in Oregon. Unsatisfied with the options available to me there, I started looking into HSU (and the possibility of moving back to Humboldt). The program was more streamlined and I appreciated that a California credentialing had much better reciprocity. Based on all that, I knew that HSU was by far the best fit.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
The emphasis on both content knowledge and professional skills interwoven into every class I took in the program has been invaluable.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
I met so many other educators who are just as committed to and passionate about education in our area. Building a network of other educators I can go to with questions, concerns, and resources has been so beneficial as I’ve moved into my career as a local educator.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
It’s very intense, but so worth it! The professors and others affiliated with the program genuinely care about your success in the program and beyond.
