About Luke
Why did you choose this program?
Because of my ADD and hyper-fixation, I was never able to stay focused long enough to pursue one field of study. Journalism allowed me an avenue into any field I wanted to know more about and a free license to ask as many questions about that field as I could think of.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
Throughout the program we are given ample opportunity to develop and fine-tune interpersonal communication skills as well as written communication. I use both of these skills in my job in order to communicate the concepts I want people to take a closer look at, as well as to tell well-informed stories that inspire and motivate people to love the natural world as much as I do!
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The personal and professional relationships you build in this program are amazing. The amount of interest your instructors take in you and your future is heartwarming. But by far what I enjoyed most about this program was the enthusiasm and passion each person I met had for this field of study.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
I would say that if you are like me, scatter-brained, prone to overthinking, and a little weird. This program will make you realize that those characteristics are all valuable tools at your disposal. Though my gut tells me that you’ll find that regardless.
