Job description: I work on various studies which integrate science with the Gulf's shellfish industry. Every day is different, working on our recirculating aquaculture system, working in our laboratory, working on shellfish leases, or preparing for our next experiment.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose this program because while touring the University, I went to the fish hatchery and took a quick tour, and thought to myself, "this is what I want to do."

How did this program prepare you for your job?

Everything I learned from Humboldt State has helped prepare me for the job I have. All of the hands-on experience and professors who've helped us gauge how diverse our field of study really is.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

All of the hands-on experience, labs, and field trips that helped train us in different skills, and professors who take the time to help students.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Absolutely, do it. You will get amazing experience through this program, and you will have a wonderful time doing this.
