About Greg
Why did you choose this program?
The beautiful location of HSU's campus played a large role in my choice, as well as the wide range of classes offered by the English program.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
My long-term goal is to teach composition at a community college. The English program at HSU was a great opportunity to focus on studying teaching writing while also developing my skills as a writer of fiction, non-fiction, researcher, and reader. I left HSU ready for graduate school, and received my master's in Literature and Languages from Mills College in 2021.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The fact that I was able to focus on my writing and preparing for graduate school while also making lasting connections with fellow students and faculty.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
I was able to learn and grow a great deal in a supportive environment. If you're considering a degree in English I cannot recommend the program at HSU highly enough.
