Job description: I assist in the development of mechanical and electrical design needs to support equipment in aid of the manufacture of emerging technologies. I conduct detailed troubleshooting and analysis of system or component level problems that affect reliability, performance, etc.

Why did you choose this program?

Campus location in the coastal redwoods facilitated a focus on studies. The smaller class sizes also allowed for a significant amount of one-on-one assistance from department staff in upper division coursework.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

In addition to a strong background in theory, the foundational experience with experiments provided an advantage during graduate studies and my early career.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

The opportunities available for involvement with research in the gravitational laboratory and Arecibo observatory.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

This is a challenging degree with exceptional faculty support.
