Why did you choose this program?
This program was the quickest route to becoming an educator. Thus, I would become a teacher a year sooner and save money. I also loved Humboldt’s scenery, it made me feel at home.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
This program taught me so much I could not fit into a small box. I learned core subjects, how to tailor to individual needs (within the subject matter and social-emotional), compassion and understanding for all of my students to give them the best education possible, teaching using best practices, how to research to ensure I am using best practices, engaging students in learning, understanding or listening to others with differences of opinions (this will occur a lot in my career), and collaboration with others.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The love and support from the educators and my mentor teacher.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
This program is doable for anyone. To get the most out of it, do your personal best.
